Tony Weir. BA, MSc, PhD. Former teacher of PE, English and ICT. Tony worked for 20 years as a senior inspector with the Department of Education where he was seconded on a 50% basis to the ICT Policy Unit. Extensive involvement in a range of ICT policy initiatives in Ireland, most notably the Digital Strategy for Education. Worked with the European SchoolNet in various roles since 1998 where he was head of department with the EUN Virtual School. Tony continued this involvement with the EUN as part of his work in the Inspectorate where he was the Department of Education representative on the European Digital Education Hub, the Digital Citizenship steering committee and the AI4T (AI for teachers) steering committee.
